Spirit of Hope provides safe emergency shelter for men who are homeless in Walworth County and has been in operation since 2005. The Shelter rotates between eight host church sites in the county from October until April and will be reopening on October 29, 2017. The Shelter is staffed by an Executive Director, a General Manager and host site Coordinators and Volunteers.
Three meals are provided daily with showers and laundry opportunities weekly. Transportation is provided to medical appointments for those who do not have transportation. Assistance is also provided with job and housing searches with the goal of the Shelter helping the men transition back into jobs, homes and the community again. In the 2016-2017 Shelter year 65 men were assisted for a total of 2,207 bed nights, 567 meals served and 6,048 volunteer hours utilized.
